Really cool place! Lots of activities and great food!

Do not get food at this location. I'm well aware that food is overpriced on places like this, and that is not the issue. They are incapable of warming food to an appropriate temperature for consumption. Three times I was given a burrito that was still cold in the middle. Another customer was given the same. We had to heat the food up in a microwave on our own. Bring your own food.

I do like this rink in general. It is cute, clean and very well maintained. My complaint is regarding the heater on the away team side of the rink 1. It is clearly stated on the meter that a 25c (quarter) should last for 10 minutes. The heater lasts 7.5 minutes. Clearly management is trying to save money in the away teams! Don't make me call weights and measures on you!

Customer Service was friendly and efficient however the number of people on the ice at one time was more than excessive. I was crashed into from behind twice and went flying and was actually hurt quite badly. I grew up skating so the issue was the sheer number of people creating accidents. I was extremely unimpressed that there seemed to be no limit to the number of skaters. There were also numerous obstacle on the ice including two tunnels and orange blocks in the center creating even more hazards. I am unlikely to return. This was not my first time skating here but the number of skaters was significantly higher as were the man-placed obstacles. As we drove 1.5 hours to skate I am just disappointed.

Parking sucks, pedestrians don't pay attention to cars entering the parking area/loading and unloading zone (kind of on a hill when entering) so when it's dark and rainy it causes a lot of conflict. Staff is nice but teens run around causes trouble some times. Not all of them do this of course, as a mother of teens myself, but when big groups get together they tend to forgetful of how to act in public.

FAQs

How to dress for indoor ice skating? ›

We recommend an assortment of leggings or slim joggers, lots of base layers to alternate between, a couple of jumpers or hoodies, a reliable coat and an abundance of socks. As you become more comfortable at the rink, you may opt for less layers (like some figure skaters).

Why is ice skating enjoyable? ›

Working out in general is a great way to relieve stress because physical activity releases endorphins in the brain. Learning to ice skate also boosts self-confidence and hones focus as you learn the many new moves skating offers, like crossovers, going backwards and spinning.

Why are ice rinks good? ›

Outdoor ice rinks and frozen ponds, rivers, and canals, serve several purposes, allowing for physical activities during the winter season such as recreational ice skating and figure skating, and also function as an affordable place for players to engage in team winter sports such as ice hockey, bandy, rinkball, ...

Can I wear jeans while ice skating? ›

Remember to avoid anything too baggy or long that may get in the way of your skates. Jeans are a big no when it comes to ice skating. Tight jeans will restrict your movement and take longer to dry after a fall on the ice. Instead, stick to thermal pants and sweatpants to protect the bottom half of your body.

Can you wear shorts to ice skating? ›

It is a good idea to wear what is comfortable and will keep you warm. Shorts or short sleeved tops are permitted but should you fall over you run the risk of scrapping your knees and elbows on the ice. Trousers and long sleeved tops are recommended. Gloves can help protect your hands and keep you warm too.

Are ice rinks fake ice? ›

The league uses natural ice for all matches, made by freezing water on a rink surface. However, other aspects of hockey do use synthetic ice. Many NHL teams use synthetic ice for practice.

Why ice skating is a good exercise? ›

Skating works the legs and glutes as you power through movement while your arms and core get a workout as you balance your body during the movement. Skating also helps build strength, especially in the major muscle groups of the lower body – the gluteals, quads, hamstrings, and calves.

How do ice rinks not melt? ›

How does an ice rink stay frozen? The most common method of refrigeration used in keeping an ice rink frozen is an indirect refrigeration system. This is where a liquid refrigerant (often ammonia) absorbs heat from a secondary liquid (often brine) which has absorbed heat from the source.

How do you not fall when ice skating? ›

When you think you might be about to fall or that you are losing your balance, bend your knees and then roll off to either side, as if you were going to sit down on an invisible chair. When you bend your knees, the body moves closer to the ice and if you still fall, it is not too high.

Can you chew gum while ice skating? ›

Ice Skating Rules

Chewing gum is not allowed inside the ice rink. Please change your shoes and skates in the designated area.

Is it cold when ice skating indoors? ›

Most ice rinks will keep the air temperature at a brisk 55-65 degrees and the on-ice temperature between 17 and 29 degrees. This temperature can affect how you skate, how often you cut your steel and what hollow or profile you choose.

How should I dress for an indoor ice hockey game? ›

If you're headed to the hockey rink to cheer on your favorite team, make sure you have a jersey handy to show off your pride. A long-sleeved top worn underneath will add extra protection from cool drafts, and cozy sweats will help keep your bottom half warm while sitting on a chilly metal bench.

What do girls wear ice skaters? ›

Wear an ice skating dress with a skirt all the way around the waist. Some coaches will allow their female skaters to wear leotards or leggings to practice. However, most prefer their skaters to wear a skating dress since it allows the coach to critique their skaters' forms, so be sure you ask first!

Can I wear jeans to roller skating? ›

DRESS CODE

No holes in jeans above the knee. All pants must be worn on waist line. Shorts and skirts must be to fingertips.
